[Accumulation of nitrogen and crude protein in maize cultivars with levels of nitrogen]. Abstract: The objective was to evaluate nitrogen levels in different cultivars of maize in content of protein and nitrogen accumulation in plant, under controlled conditions in Teresina, State of Piauí, Brazil. The test was conducted in a greenhouse belonging to the College Teresina Technician, being evaluated genotypes: BRS Gorutuba, BRS 4104 (Biofortified), AL Piratininga, BRS Caimbé, Vitorinha (UFLA) and AL Bandeirantes with the application of three doses: zero (control), 50 and 100 kg ha-1 of nitrogen, whose source was urea, in a randomized block design in a factorial (genotype x doses) with 3 blocks. The cultivar AL Piratininga showed greater accumulation of nitrogen in leaf and total dry mass. The BRS Caimbé showed higher crude protein content in the leaf. The application of 100 kg ha-1 of nitrogen provided higher crude protein.
